Wear your colours
Blue Monday, the third Monday in January, is often considered the most depressing day of the year. While we don’t necessarily agree with that logic, we like to use the day as an opportunity to continue the conversation about mental health and well-being.
In what has become a Genius tradition, employees worldwide come together and wear their favourite team’s colours for the day. It’s a fun way to shake off any January blues, spark conversations and set aside local team rivalries – for one day at least!
Making a difference
During the season of giving, our staff participated in various initiatives to give back to their local communities. Our Bulgaria office organised their annual ‘Operation: Teddy Bear’, collaborating to donate, wrap, and deliver presents to those in need at Christmas.
Geniuses in Estonia supported a food bank during its busiest time of the year, utilising their Volunteer Day – an extra day off per year provided to all staff for charitable activities.
Meanwhile, employees globally also took part in our annual Christmas jumper day, with the company making a donation to Save the Children on behalf of everyone who participated.
Healthy competition
This January, our latest global challenge on YuMuuv has been a hit. Typically, these challenges focus on physical activities to reach a target number of steps, kilometers or other fitness goals.
However, this month over 150 staff members have taken part in a ‘dry January’ challenge. After the indulgences of December, they are encouraging each other to go alcohol-free for a month and win a range of non-alcoholic drinks as a reward.
Recharged & ready to go!
From thrilling team building events to festive parties around the world, our people had plenty of opportunities to unwind at the end of last year.
Each year, our employees also enjoy an extended company-wide break, with additional days off between Christmas and New Year. This allows them to have well-deserved time off and return equipped with the tools and motivation needed to tackle the new year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
